Greetings from Livingston!

Greetings from Livingston!

We love admiring the beauty of the communities around us.  When we started to map out and move into our first retail space in Livingston, New Jersey, we started to discover new roads to avoid the traffic of Route 10, as we found ourselves making several trips in one day to and from Home Depot.  During one of those trips, we drove by a charming house with an all-wooden exterior, nestled in between a beautiful landscape.  The road this house is set on then became our favorite road to our store.

While here at Modern Ornament we focus a lot on the interior of a house, today we want to celebrate the beauty that is found in the exterior of our homes, and also on so many different types of buildings in our communities.  The exterior of a building or house adds to the narrative of a community.  We can find inspiration, beauty, security, and even wayfinding, in the exterior envelopes of the buildings that house so many aspects of our daily lives.  Today we want to highlight some of the buildings in Livingston that brought us inspiration over the years as part of our Greetings from Livingston Post Card Series.
