It's 2020! So many words to describe how we feel stepping into a new decade, but we're choosing to feel EXCITED this week. As a new year begins, it can feel like some of the EXCITEMENT that the Holidays brought is fading away as the messages around us quickly shift from coming together to celebrate, to going off and working on the resolutions we've made for ourselves. Couple that with boxing away the merry and bright, the sparkly and cozy layers of decorations, and bidding our loved ones farewell as the time comes to return to our "normal" routines, and being EXCITED can feel a little more challenging than when we first ushered the word. So how do we help ourselves stay EXCITED through our homes as we bid farewell to the Holiday Season and say hello a new year and a new season ahead? Here's a few tips from our own lessons learned:

SPARKLE AND SHINE
The Holiday season can feel so magical and warm thanks in part to the extra shimmer and sparkle brought on by Holiday lights. To help fill in the voids, find a few places or nooks in your home in which to add a table or floor lamp to help keep the sparkle brought on by the accent lights of the Holiday Season.

DON'T FADE AWAY
Colors have such an impact on our indoor environments. Instead of dulling out as we "go back to normal" after the Holiday Season, take this time to add a different color to your walls, accent pillows or rugs. Introducing small pockets of color will refresh your look and create added interest in your rooms.

LIVEN IT UP
Indoor plants introduce life and create a more natural feel in our homes. As you put away poinsettia flowers and Christmas trees, replace them with indoor plants to help bring the outdoors in and create a more natural feel in your home. Not big on plant upkeep? Try low-maintenance plants like bamboo, cactus and succulents to create a natural look that's low maintenance.
