December's Color Trend + How to Incorporate into your Home!

Announcing December's color trend:
WARM WHITE!

Modern Ornament's Warm White Color Crush

Let's just say we have MANY favorite colors, and so we're once again gushing about this month's color trend!

With a calming and peaceful demeanor, warm white offers a subtle hint of color that awakens a feeling of tranquility and harmony, while at the same time adding punch and contrast when paired with dark colors and high-chroma hues. Hinting at a fresh start, purity and rest, warm white offers connection, rest for the eyes and a dose of enlivening to our everyday surroundings and interiors.

For December 2021, the internationally-recognized Color Marketing Group (CMG) has selected "Reborn", a warm white color, as their color alert for the month and we are just daydreaming about all the places we can find and incorporate this color. From thinking about clouds drifting with the winds, to frosting, icing and sugar on baked holiday goods, to the soft, white sand on a warm beach, and even the brightest white on cold, fresh snowfall, white is a neutral color that we just can't get enough of!

"Interiors are also getting a boost from this non-neutral neutral. The nuanced warmth makes for comfortable spaces that helps embrace the general warming trend of interior hues. Working with everything from navy and dark green, to cocoa, red, and black, it was once a standard color, but now one exudes a new life. It even works with a variety of greys to raise their relevance and make them appear fresh" notes The Color Marketing Group.

As we approach the end of the year, we can't help but be excited about using white in our interiors as a symbol of regeneration.  Merrian Webster Dictionary defines regeneration as "an act or the process of regenerating; the state of being regenerated; spiritual renewal or revival; renewal or restoration of a body, bodily part, or biological system (such as a forest) after injury or as a normal process", and as we think about interiors, it's the combination of all of those things that gets us even more excited as we think about what it means to interior design!

As we go into the new year, let's regenerate and revive, as well as be intentional about why and how we are regenerating and reviving our own interiors. For some of us, a refresh in our homes is part of the normal process, for others, it's part of our own self recovery from this year, this season, or this state of being. So as you tackle your home refresh or home redesign, take sometime to really look around your home, and from the things that you have there, consider which ones really make you feel like you are at your home? Maybe it's the living room upholstered chair that reclines and lets you relax, perhaps it's the art that reminds you about one of your favorite places in the world, or maybe it's the little whimsical objects displayed on your living room etagere--either way, let those items inspire you and help you be intentional in surrounding yourself with items that really speak to you.
