CLARITY

This is an interesting part of the year.  We go from the excitement and wonder of the Holidays, setting goals to ensure our success and constant gatherings to keep us engaged—to putting away the decorations that brought the sparkle, settling into the arduous pursuit of our goals and going back into empty houses away from parties, gatherings and shared meals that filled our homes with laughter and warmth.  Though “normal” is a striking contrast to “festive”, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the shimmer and excitement is not there, it just means maybe we need to look a little bit harder.

It’s easy to recognize a moment of CLARITY when in the middle of a chaotic time because the contrast between CLARITY and chaos is enough to stop us on our tracks.  While we will root for (and beg for, hello!) CLARITY in crazy seasons, this week we are latching on to CLARITY as the feeling we want to possess in our every day style.  We will choose to see things with CLARITY.  To make decisions guided by CLARITY.  To make plans inspired by CLARITY.  To make room and space for our designs and creativity to be able to evolve and thrive through a moment of CLARITY.

To help maintain us in a state of CLARITY, here are a few things that we will integrate into our processes:

• To help us see with CLARITY:  we will look down the road and towards the goal that we want to achieve.  By knowing the end goal and end result, we will be able to map out a course of action to get us there.

• To make decisions guided by CLARITY:  we will examine and weigh the options.  This will help us feel confident that we are making an informed decision and keep us from feeling blind-sighted.

• To make room and space to evolve and thrive through a moment of CLARITY:  we will look and examine the resources around us.  We will look to refresh our inspiration through familiar sources, as well as tap into sources we haven’t explored with before.  Sometimes the key to kick-starting creativity is by going back to the basics, starting with processes that are comfortable and familiar, and then challenging yourself to build upon them.
